These are the system requirements for product update 393 and 394 of Exact Globe. Please be informed that third party software products like for example Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office and Microsoft SQL Server have their own system requirements which might be different from the system requirements of Exact Globe. Also Exact Synergy and Exact Synergy Enterprise have their own sets of system requirements that have to be taken into account.

The hardware and software requirements for product update 393/394 have been adjusted, compared to the requirements for product update 392. The most important adjustments: support for Microsoft SQL Server 2008 has been added and support for Internet Explorer 8 has been added.

Stand-alone scenario

any version of Microsoft SQL Server.

General requirements

Regularly backup the administrations/databases and store the backup on a different media device
(not the machine where the Microsoft SQL Server is installed);
Perform regular database maintenance;
To update the software via the internet an internet connection is needed;
Use scalable hardware;

Exact Globe has been tested in a VMware environment. This test was conducted with VMware Server version 1.0.4 in combination with Windows Server 2003 and Microsoft Office 2003. This combination is supported as of release 382. For all other combinations, please see document 16.037.327;
The system requirements are based on the usage of Exact Globe only, if other applications are used on the same machines the requirements should be increased;
System requirements for Terminal Servers are based on dedicated Terminal Servers, which means no other applications are running. In case other applications are running as well, the hardware specifications should be increased accordingly;
In case multiple active directories are used and a trust needs to be established between those active directories, Windows Small Business Servers are not supported. A trust needs to be established if data needs to be send accross active directories;
Every new service pack is supported automatically by Exact, unless explicitly announced otherwise;
In a network environment a Microsoft Active Directory (domain) needs to be present. The workstations, the SQL Server and the Windows Terminal Server need to be part of the same active directory;
The use of Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 on one server is not supported;
Microsoft Office 2003 Standard Edition does not support CRM wordmerge functionality due to limited functionality of this Standard Edition;
